Ragnar Lothbrock is a farmer living in the Kattegat area of southern Norway, married to Lagherta with whom he has two children Bjorg and Gyda. His brother Rollo and the surrounding peasants go to the village to meet their lord, Count Haraldson. Unhappy with Haraldson's policies, he decides to plunder the western lands, which he believes are full of riches.
To do this he asks his friend Floki to build him a boat and with a few men as dissatisfied as himself they set out on a journey to the west. The journey results in success but confronts him directly with his lord who confiscates all the treasures leaving only one per person and Ragnar chooses to keep the Christian prisoner he had taken during the plundering.
He also convinces Earl Haraldson to let him return to England which the Earl accepts on one condition, that one of his trusted men travels with them which Ragnar accepts. But during the plundering all does not go according to plan and Knut, the Earl's man, tries to rape his wife and she is forced to kill him. To protect her, Ragnar confesses to the count that he did it.
After many battles with the count who destroys everything around Ragnar, he kills his friends, destroys his farm, tortures his brother, challenges him to a duel to the death, which the count finally accepts. The farmer is victorious and is named Earl of Kattegat. He takes possession of his throne and receives the oaths of his subjects.
Ragnar continues his plundering and adventures in the western lands while his pregnant wife Lagertha is left behind. Unfortunately all is not rosy for the Viking, she loses the child she was expecting while he returns victorious from his last expedition and wonders why the gods are punishing him in this way!
Later, Ragnar, sent by King Horik, tries to negotiate about some lands that Jarl Borg has appropriated, but it does not turn out to be that easy. He orders Floki to go to Denmark to consult the king's opinion, leaves Rollo as his representative to Borg and sets off with his men in search of the sacred ash tree, the Yggdrassil: the world tree where Odin had hung himself for nine days and nights to find the runes of knowledge.
On the way he meets Auslaug, a beautiful and intelligent woman, and he succumbs like the poor mortal that he is. His son Bjorg makes him promise not to do it again but soon after he learns that she is pregnant: he cannot go against the gods! Relationships become complicated and Lagertha cannot bear to share her husband, so she leaves with her son from Kattegat.
Several years pass, Auslaug and Ragnar have had more children, King Horik finally shares the land and everyone can breathe. No more wars between them for division! They set sail again and against all odds, they arrive in Wessex where King Ecbert reigns. Ragnar has other plans besides looting and killing and tells the king, who doesn't look too badly on the project.
He goes to give the good news to King Horik but he learns on the way that his family and his village are in trouble. He doesn't hesitate for a moment and goes to help them but on the way he loses two ships due to the storms! The reunion is short and they pool their men to defeat Count Borg. Ragnar and Bjorn fight side by side to achieve their goal.
Count Borg is defeated and the Vikings return home full of pride, but he soon learns that the men he left behind in Wessex have been attacked by King Ecbert. King Horik suggests an alliance with Earl Borg to leave the wretched English king out of action.
Ladgerda shows up with his men to help Ragnar in his mission, he kills the Borg Count in front of the whole village and causes an uneasiness with King Horik but also with his friend Floki, since Ragnar is a count things have changed a lot! When they arrive in Wessex he sends someone to warn King Ecbert that he wants to negotiate. King Ecbert's son goes to tell the Vikings that they are ready to talk, but on his way back he is attacked by Vikings who kill everyone except the prince.
The fight becomes fierce, Ragnar, Bjorn, Lagertha, Floki (who appear in the Vikings™ money game), Horik and all the surviving Vikings retreat after the hard battle. Also King Ecbert once again proposes dialogue and Lagertha sides with Ragnar to try to change things.
Indeed, both parties come to an agreement, peace in exchange for money, treasures, land to cultivate, the release of Ragnar's brother Rollo and financial compensation for the Vikings who want to stay there. But King Horik has other plans for Ragnar, he wants to get rid of him and his entourage, but in vain it is he who will perish at the hands of the fierce Viking, as well as all his sons, in order to be able to proclaim himself king.
The plans change completely for King Ragnar, and he confronts many of the people who have been on his side for a long time. His alliance with King Ecbert seems solid despite the reluctance of some, and Ragnar's plans go further, now he wants to conquer France! His delusions of grandeur have no limits!
The first feature of the Vikings™ random money game is called Hotspot Feature. In the main game there is a Hotspot that covers reel 3. When a Vikings™ symbol is fully stacked in the hotspot play area, all other Vikings symbols in the interface will be transformed into the one that landed on reel 3. Any symbol with a face is a Viking symbol. Single or elongated Viking items are transformed when the Hotspot Feature is activated.
When an elongated Viking symbol completely covers the Hotspot, the Scatter Pays will be activated. After the characters have transformed into the same Viking item, the winnings will be evaluated according to a table that we will discover in the winnings table that we will explain later.
The Shield Wall Feature can be triggered in the main game and in Raid Spin, it will appear as a cluster of mysterious symbols that appear randomly on the reels. Once they appear they will be evaluated and paid out.
In Raid Spins, the game turns into a 7 reels, 5 rows interface with 78,125 ways to win! 7 Raid Spins are rewarded with 3 Hotspots on reels 3, 4 and 5. When an elongated Viking item completely covers one or more of the reels, all other Viking symbols in the Hotspot game era will be transformed into the same elongated Viking symbol.
