When Ali Baba discovers the location of the Great Thief's cave, he stays hidden until night falls and they all go off to loot other places. He returns and steals whatever he can, hoping to redeem his friend. He presents himself with his booty to the Sultan.
When the Sultan sees him with so many precious stones, he takes him prisoner and orders him to tell him where he found all these treasures. Ali Baba promises to reveal the hiding place on one condition: that he frees Morgiane. The very stingy Sultan accepts and Ali Baba shows him the hiding place.
The Sultan orders his men to go and get the booty. What Ali Baba did not say was that the thieves were about to return. But that was no longer his problem! He had got Morgiane back and they had gone far away so that they would not have to deal with that man again.
