With this promotion, the former CMO will be responsible for improving the company's digital, sales and marketing operations.
Gaming1, a leading sports betting and gaming partner, has promoted its former CMO David Carrion to Chief Operator Officer Interactive (COO Interactive).
As the newly appointed COO Interactive, David will be responsible for developing a high performance, experienced, thorough and resilient organisation. He will also be responsible for aligning the technology, sales and marketing departments as one.
This structural change reflects the exceptional growth the company has experienced over the last year. Gaming1 was the first company to launch live casino in Colombia thanks to its long-standing partnership with Evolution, a leading provider of live casino technology.
This year Gaming1 also celebrated its arrival in the US market, as well as plans to launch in the Netherlands in the coming months, while continuing to consolidate and grow in the Belgian market with a strong portfolio of brands and products.
All these projects are based on a responsible approach to gaming and aim to ensure the long-term sustainability of the sector. With this in mind, Gaming1 expects to achieve record performances in 21 different international operations in 2022.
Sylvain Boniver, co-founder of Gaming1, commented on the change in role:
'Everyone at Gaming1 is delighted that David has more responsibility as the company's new Interactive COO.
During his time as Chief Marketing Officer, David demonstrated his skills and experience in implementing impressive growth strategies. We are confident that David will excel in his new role and continue to be a tremendous and valuable asset to the company and our stakeholders.
David Carrion, Interactive COO of Gaming1, added:
I am proud of the trust placed in me by appointing me COO Interactive at one of the most exciting and ambitious brands in the industry. Since joining, I've seen how the company excels in all areas and is experiencing exceptional growth.
We have bold ambitions for the future. Our goal for the interactive business line is to outperform the market. We are ready to double our revenues in the next five years. We want to achieve this by leveraging scalability and delivering a quality player experience.
Well known in the industry for his track record, Gaming1's new Interactive COO has extensive experience, including stints at Blackstone-owned Spanish casino operator Cirsa and The Stars Group, where he led the transformation and growth towards digital marketing before becoming Marketing Director of PokerStars, the group's flagship brand.
In his previous roles, Carrion built teams and developed strategy and technology stacks around SEO, PPC, paid social, affiliate and display advertising. He is also behind several renowned and award-winning campaigns, including Game On (winner of the Social Marketing Campaign and Poker Marketing Campaign categories at the 2018 EGR), or the PokerStars NLHE Championship, the largest $25,000 buy-in poker tournament ever held. The latter project earned him a spot on the prestigious Gaming Intelligence Hot 50, a ranking of the most influential online casino professionals.
