Circus Casino France, the French subsidiary of Gaming1, the entertainment branch of the Belgian Ardent Group, extends its presence in Switzerland with the acquisition of the shares held by the listed company Partouche in the Crans-Montana Casino.

This operation allows Circus Casino France to become the main shareholder of the establishment with 57.00%. The remaining percentages of shares are retained by the other existing holders, namely the municipalities of Crans-Montana, Lens and Icogne, as well as the Ispar Holding group. The closing of the transaction took place yesterday.

Already owner of 7 casinos in France and a club in Paris, Circus Casino France consolidates its entry into the Swiss market with this transaction. The Crans-Montana casino will gradually take on the brand's colours. However, this is not a first for the Ardent Group, which last October became the main shareholder of Casino Davos and which operates 777.ch in particular. This acquisition allows the group with 30 years of experience to strengthen its position as a major player in the Swiss and European gambling industry.

The Casino Crans-Montana, a renowned casino in the Valais, was founded in 2000 and currently has 53 employees. Offering both slot machines and gaming tables, the establishment alone generates an annual turnover in 2019 (excluding covid) of 15 million Swiss Francs.

Sébastien Leclercq, Country Manager Circus Casino France said:

We are proud to announce the acquisition of shares in Casino Crans-Montana, a fantastic land-based establishment that has built up a great reputation and many loyal customers over the years. This transaction is representative of Ardent Group's ambitious plans and underlines the growth strategy of its Circus brand as a major player in land-based casinos and gaming halls.

But the group's Swiss ambitions do not stop there. Beyond its role as an operator of gaming rooms and casinos, the Gaming1 company, to which Circus Casino France is attached, developed more than 10 years ago its own technological and digital platform which allows land-based operators of regulated markets to develop an online presence through legal gaming sites. As Switzerland is one of the countries that allow the holders of a physical gaming establishment licence to have their own digital gaming site, Gaming1 intends to develop in the near future an omnichannel offer for Swiss players through the Circus.ch site.
