Ronin's Honour is a 5-reel video slot with 243 initial ways to win, expandable to 59,049 ways to win with the Mystery Mask split symbol feature.
All wins are paid from left to right starting with the leftmost reel and for winning combinations without spaces. Scatters only pay left to right, but pay from any reel where a winning combination is possible, with spaces allowed.
In the base game and in Battle Free Spins, Mask symbols can appear during any spin and trigger a mystery symbol feature. Mask symbols then reveal: single pay weapon symbols, royal symbols or stacked ninja wild symbols that fill the entire height of the reel. All revealed mystery or royal weapon symbols will be the same for each spin result with the mystery feature.
The Weapon or Royal symbols that are revealed as part of the Mystery Mask symbol feature can then be split to create additional ways to win on that reel. The revealed Weapon or Royal symbols can occupy 1, 2 or 3 spaces per symbol position. Stacked Ninja Wild symbols that are revealed as part of the Mystery Mask feature start on 1 space for that reel and can then be split on 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 or 9 spaces per Wild reel.
3 or more Scatters trigger Battle Free Spins. Scatter symbols cannot appear during the Mystery Mask Symbol feature rounds. Scatters cannot appear during Free Spins, and Free Spins cannot be retriggered.
During Battle Free Spins, the same Mystery Mask symbol feature from the base game can also be triggered. The player starts the Battle Free Spins with 3 lives, and the game's enemy (Hannya) has 3 lives. These are represented by counters at the top left and top right of the game. The player (Ronin) loses 1 life if a stacked wild ninja is not split in a given turn. The enemy (Hannya) loses 1 life if any stacked ninja wild is split in a turn.
If the enemy (Hannya) loses all 3 lives during the Battle Free Spins, the player then plays a single enhanced Hannya Free Spins, where a single stacked Hannya Wild will appear on reel 3, 4 or 5. The stacked Hannya Wild will cause stacked Demon Mystery Symbols to appear from reel 1 to the leftmost reel adjacent to the stacked Hannya Wild. The stacked demon mystery symbols then all reveal the same weapon or royal symbol, with each demon spanning 3 symbol positions per reel. Each revealed symbol can be split into 3 to 9 spaces per reel with a maximum of 3 spaces per individual symbol position. The stacked Hannya Wild starts on 1 space and can be split on 3 to 9 spaces with a maximum of 3 spaces per individual symbol position.
Free Spins continue until the player has lost all 3 lives, the enemy (Hannya) has lost all 3 lives or the Battle Free Spins limit is reached. Battle Free Spins are capped at 50 spins. If the player reaches 50 Free Spins during the Battle Free Spins and does not trigger the Hannya Free Spin, the current Battle Free Spins end. If the enemy (Hannya) loses its last life in the 50th and final Battle Free Spins, the player receives the upgraded Hannya Free Spins. The maximum winnable for a single bet is 30,000x the bet. The maximum number of 59,049 pay paths can only be reached during the Hannya Free Spin feature.
