It's Christmas Eve and the hospital has just called Mary, she has to go to work tonight to replace a colleague who has fallen ill ! It's a disaster, she asks Ted not to go out and look after his little sister, but Ted's plans are different and as soon as his mother leaves, he takes his things and goes out. She discovers that her brother is a little thug and films him stealing a car and going home. When Ted comes home, she blackmails him with the camera tape to help her find out if that hand is really Father Christmas! So they prepare the house with wires everywhere with bells on, and the camera filming through the hole in the door... They also prepare provisions for the night. They soon fall asleep...
Then the bells ring... The two brothers wake up! They get dressed and go out in pursuit of this person who had entered their house! They see a red glow jumping from roof to roof, it's him, Father Christmas exists! They see the sleigh and decide to hide in it. The big red man comes back and jumps inside, throws his bag of toys in the back, whistles at the reins and takes off at breakneck speed! The two brothers can't believe what is happening: they are flying over the houses!
He's going too fast! Kate is cold, she asks Santa for a blanket, he didn't know he had company! He stresses and loses control of his sleigh, the reins go crazy and go in all directions until they all fall to the ground! No injuries but the sled is broken, the bag of presents is gone and the reins have run away! What a disaster!
Kate and Ted ask Santa how they can help - it's their fault this disaster happened! They decide to split up, Kate will get the reins and Ted and Santa will get the toy bag. Christmas must be saved! They'll make every effort not to leave thousands of children without toys tonight! It's not going to be easy but they have to do it fast!
Kate sets off to find the reins while Ted and Santa steal a car to find the toy bag. They get chased by the police and end up being arrested and put in the dungeon while Ted has run off with the compass to find the bag. After a while, he finds it but has to go and join the others.
Kate has also tamed the reins and goes to look for the others. Meanwhile, in prison, Santa has organised a party with all the people who were arrested that night! When the police realise that it is indeed him and not an impostor, they release him and he is reunited with his two friends. The elves went to repair the sled which was not in very good condition, and left it as new!
Now they have a big problem: there is not much time left for daybreak and not all the presents have been taken to their recipients! The time runs out and there is only one solution: to call for help to his elves again! So soon done so soon said, Santa's elves come out of the toy bag with the big book of addresses: Kate reads out the names and addresses while Santa and the elves (like in Jingle Spin™) hand out the presents and Ted drives the sleigh!
Whew! Finally all is well and they finish on time after having the ride of their lives! All that's left is to get them home before their mother arrives from work at the hospital. So that she doesn't realise what had happened during the night. Kate and Ted helped save Christmas!
