Yggdrasil, an innovative provider of iGaming solutions, has signed a licensing agreement with Veikkaus, Finland's historic gaming operator, to revolutionize the retail segment. Prior to this agreement, the two companies had already established a strategic partnership to share online casino content in the regulated Finnish market, thereby strengthening their cooperation and commitment to innovation in the gaming industry.
Veikkaus, a recognized public operator with a GGR of €1691 million in 2019, is partnering with Yggdrasil to redesign and modernize its slot machine games on proprietary video lottery terminals (VLTs). Already partners in the online domain, this new alliance will extend their collaboration to physical retail outlets in Finland, offering a seamless and immersive gaming experience to their customers.
Yggdrasil's first retail games are expected to be operational across Veikkaus' retail network by mid-next year. This ambitious initiative strictly adheres to Finnish regulatory requirements, with a successful proof of concept already achieved. This deployment is seen as a major step in the evolution of the retail gaming sector, ensuring both compliance and innovation.
